What is NLP?
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is an approach to communication, self development, and psychotherapy. NLP is positive change work whose aim is to help understand the human experience and how we perceive life and interact with the people around us. NLP helps us get out of a "victim" state of mind and understand we have a choice in how we respond and participate in life's events. It can be very empowering and shift our emotional response to events and people in our lives. The 13 presuppositions are the central principles of NLP, its guiding philosophy, its ‘beliefs’. These principles are not claimed to be true or universal. You do not have to believe they are true. They are called ‘presuppositions’ because you pre-suppose them to be true and then act as if they were. Basically, they form a set of ethical principles for life. You can read about them here.
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a mental state that is focused on noticing what is happening in the mind and body. It is being in the present moment, while acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations without criticism or judgment. I can help you learn mindfulness-based meditation to help find inner peace and clarity.
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a therapeutic technique in guiding a person to reach a trance-like state of heightened focus and attention, to help accelerate positive, transformative change.
What is EFT?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a form of counseling intervention that combines various theories of alternative medicine including acupuncture, neuro-linguistic programming and energy medicine. It involves acupressure and tapping while using psychological intervention and has been very successful in helping heal physical and psychological issues.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. The philosophy is that universal life force energy is being channeled through the hands of the person giving Reiki after they have been energetically attuned to be the giver. It is administered by laying hands gently on different areas of the body. It can be a very powerful experience.
What is chakra cleansing work?
The belief is that chakras are energy centers in our body that flow down the center from the base of the spine to the top of the head (in our spiritual body that surrounds our physical body or sometimes its called our subtle energy body). They assist in the running of our mind, body and soul. If there is an energy blockage in a chakra it can trigger or contribute to disease and effect our physical and/or mental health. For this reason, it is important to keep the energy flowing smoothly through the chakras. I offer individual and group chakra cleansing work that incorporates guided imagery with a special powerful breathing technique.
